- Do not lay flat.
- Move the muscles in the treated area for a few seconds, every 30 minutes.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, spas for 24 hours.
- The area must not be massaged for 48 hour post treatment.
- Some patients experience a headache or flu like symptoms, this is normal and will usually resolves within 24-48 hours.
- We recommend your review appointment to be at the 10-14 day post your initial treatment.
Anti wrinkle products usually last 3-4 months, It takes 10-14 days to take full effect.
Important points to remember
Remember slight movement is normal and desirable over a ‘frozen’ look in most patients. Effectiveness varies between products, batches of products and differing body physiology and stress levels. Puffiness can occur and will usually resolve with ice and an extra pillow at night. Eye drops can assist eyelid droop in some cases. As you age you may need higher doses and a different pattern of injecting. Also, the brow can become heavy as we age, and it is therefore wise to do the frown and crows feet at the same time to help lift those muscles. In addition, some patients have a male pattern or stronger muscle and need a higher dose. Weakness of muscles (e.g. eyebrow/eyelid) can be distressing but resolves in most cases in a few weeks. This can happen for the first time after having years of treatment and it may never happen again.
If you have any concerns please don’t hessite to call the clinic (07) 5683 0822

It’s important to attend any scheduled follow-up appointments with your healthcare provider. She/he can assess your progress, address any concerns or questions you may have, and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
Your first treatment can be stressful as this is a new experience, try to relax and stay positive. After your first treatment, you may notice other concerns on your face that were present previously and not caused by the filler. This can be due to closer inspecting of your face after your treatment and seeing a greater contrast with the improved area. If you feel like the filler hasn’t lasted after the 2 weeks its usually because the swelling has reduced and you preferred the volume with swelling involved. In most cases this means you need more product to satisfy those requirements (at the patients cost). The left and right side of our faces is never 100% symmetrical, after treatment this can become more obvious to you as you are studying your face in more detail. Very rarely will this need a complimentary top up as complete symmetry is not possible.
Swelling
Swelling is a common side effect of filler injections and usually occurs immediately or within the first few hours after the procedure. It can last for a few days to a week, depending on the individual and the specific filler used.
Bruising
Bruising at the injection site is also common and may appear as small, localized areas of discolouration. The bruising can vary in severity and typically resolves within a week or two.
Redness
Some redness or mild inflammation may occur at the injection site, which is usually temporary and subsides within a few hours to a couple of days.
Tenderness or sensitivity
The treated area may feel tender or sensitive to touch for a few days after the injection. This tenderness is usually mild and should improve over time.
Itching
Itching or a mild sensation of tightness may be experienced in the treated area. This is generally temporary and should resolve on its own.
Lumpiness or unevenness
Initially, the filler may create a sensation of lumpiness or unevenness in the treated area. This is usually temporary and should smooth out as the filler settles.
Cold sores
There is a small chance that a treatment may induce an outbreak of facial cold sores in patients with previous history. Anti vials are recommended and these can be purchased at your local pharmacy.
Discolouration
In rare cases, the injected area may appear slightly bluish or discoloured. This is usually due to superficial bruising and should resolve as the bruise heals.
Rare complications
Although uncommon, there is a risk of more serious complications such as infection, allergic reactions, or vascular occlusion (blockage of a blood vessel). If you experience severe pain, excessive swelling, or any concerning symptoms or are otherwise concerned, it is important to seek medical attention promptly.

We offer HEALITE II LED treatments for those cases where bruising is severe and not manageable with home remedies.
How long until I will see results?
Although some of the effects can be immediate, it can take up to 2 weeks for the final results to be seen and the procedure may need to be repeated.
Further dissolving with Hyalase may need to be performed, this is best done 14 days after the initial treatment.
How long after the Hyaluronidase can I get Dermal Filler?
Further treatment with dermal filler to the corrected area can be performed no sooner than 14 days after the last treatment with Hyalase.
Will the Hyaluronidase cause skin laxity?
Hyalase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid fillers, but it can also break down naturally occurring hyaluronic acid present in the body. The results can be unpredictable and the effect dramatic with possible loss of volume and some skin laxity.

Sculptra Aftercare
–
Sculptra (poly L lactic acid) is a product used to fill defects of the soft tissue layers of the body. Sculptra is a collagen stimulator that causes a reaction in the soft tissue resulting in the formation of new collagen. Sculptra is ultimately absorbed about 2 years after treatment; the new collagen layer may last 2 or more years. When using Sculptra, a series of treatments may be necessary to achieve adequate filling.
-Immediately following a treatment session with Sculptra, redness, swelling, pain, bruising or all of these signs can happen in the treatment area. These signs usually go away in a few hours to a few days. Some have been known to last up to 17 days.
***Firmly massage the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days after the treatment session. ***
Within the first 24 hours after treatment, an ice pack can be applied for a few minutes at a time to the treatment area to help reduce swelling. Wrap the ice in a cloth and avoid putting ice directly on your skin. Avoid excessive sun and UV lamp exposure until any initial swelling and redness has resolved.
How quickly can I get back to my daily activities?
Most patients feel comfortable going back to their normal activities following treatment.
When will I be able to apply make-up after treatment?
Make-up may be applied a few hours after treatment if no complications are present (for example, open wounds or bleeding).
The most common side effects with the use of Sculptra include injection-related side effects at the site of the injection such as bleeding, tenderness or pain, redness, bruising, or swelling. These side effects generally last, on average, 3 to 17 days.
One possible delayed side effect with Sculptra can be small bumps under the skin in the treated area. These small bumps may not be visible, and you may notice them only when you press on the treated skin. These bumps tend to happen within the first 6 to 12 months after the first treatment, and often resolve on their own. Visible bumps, sometimes with redness or color change to the treated area, have also been reported. As with all procedures that involve an injection through the skin, there is a risk of infection.

Skin Needling Aftercare
- Do not expose yourself to the sun. After you have undergone your microneedling procedure, stay out of the sun and do not apply any sunscreen, due to the toxins that may be contained in the lotion. Post procedure, the skin channels are completely open, and any toxins contained in topical applicants may be harmful to you.
- Do not use any “active ingredient” skin products. Post-procedure, avoid any skincare product that has active ingredients. These commonly include things like Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Retinol, and other similar agents. The skin will be highly sensitive and these products will only irritate it further.
- Use collagen
stimulating peptides- As micro-needling serves to stimulate the production of collagen, the skin needs higher amounts of collagen than normal to recover optimally. Collagen Stimulating Peptides assist in that process, further aiding in the stimulation of collagen production. - Avoid the use of makeup after treatment. It is imperative that you let your skin “breathe” and recover for 24 hours after the procedure. The skin channels are open, and using a makeup brush can penetrate the pores, especially if they are very thin, causing further irritation. Using a makeup brush that has been used before can contaminate the skin and, consequently, lead to infections. Wait 24 to 48 hours before you apply face makeup to give your skin the necessary recovery time.
- Use a cooling face mask. After you have undergone microneedling, you may experience some skin inflammation or redness. Using a cooling mask will help reduce the inflammation or redness of the skin, giving you more comfort.
- Use an antioxidant serum. Antioxidant serums have properties that assist in healing the skin. Serums assist in soothing the skin and further reduce irritation.
- Avoid sweating. As you sweat the pores of your skin will reopen, and the bacteria on your skin may enter the skin punctures. This can lead to either a reaction or infection.
- Drink water. It is important to stay hydrated before and after your procedure to help your skin heal and rejuvenate faster.
If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us (07) 5683 0822
