Our Skin Cancer Team Meet Dr Paul Clarke

Dr Clarke leads our skin cancer screening and early intervention service. With specialist training in dermoscopy and skin cancer medicine, Dr Clarke performs comprehensive full-body skin checks, dermoscopic assessment, biopsies, and excisions.

For cases requiring advanced surgical technique or complex reconstruction, Dr Clarke works closely with our Specialist Plastic Surgeons to ensure you receive seamless, expert care without delay.

Dr Clarke’s additional certifications include:

  • Advanced Clinical Certificate of Dermoscopy, SCCA
  • Advanced Clinical Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery, SCCA
  • Diploma Certificate of Dermatology, AID

He will be available for consultations out of The Coastal Clinic every Wednesday from the 29th of April.

What we Treat Types of Skin Cancer

Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. Understanding the type of skin cancer is essential to determining the right treatment pathway.

Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC)

The most common type. Rarely spreads but can cause local damage if untreated. Highly treatable when caught early.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC)

Can spread to lymph nodes if untreated. Requires prompt assessment and treatment. Often appears on sun-exposed areas.

Melanoma

The most serious form. Can spread rapidly if not detected early. Schedule regular skin checks with a skin cancer specialist.
