Scarring is a natural part of the surgical process. Following your surgery, your scar will initially appear as a fine line that may look red, raised or firm in the early weeks — this is entirely normal. Over time, most scars soften, flatten and fade significantly, with the most noticeable improvement typically occurring over the first 12 to 18 months. Every patient heals differently, and a number of factors influence your individual scar outcome. To support the best possible result, all patients receive a complimentary consultation with one of our dermal and laser therapists following their six-week surgical review. At this appointment, your therapist will assess your scar and walk you through the range of non-surgical treatment options available at The Coastal Clinic that may help optimise your healing and long-term scar appearance.
At The Coastal Clinic, we have developed a scar treatment plan based on clinical evidence to optimise the healing and long-term appearance of surgical scars. All surgical patients are offered the scar treatment package as an optional addition to their surgery.

- Full consult and review with our laser/dermal therapist
- 3x Laser treatments to the scar
- 3x Skin needling treatments to the scar
- 3x LED Heallite treatments
- 1x Strataderm 20g
Note: This package price includes treatment with the Laser Genesis. There is an option to upgrade your package to the Amla C02 laser for an extra $500
Your specialist Plastic Surgeon will advise you when it is safe to begin the scar treatment plan at your 6 week review.
This package can be purchased at the time of booking your surgery, or after. The package is also available to non-surgical patients or patients who have recently had surgery elsewhere.
