What to Expect at Your First Consultation

Your first consultation with Dr Cronin at The Coastal Clinic Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics is an essential step in your journey towards achieving your aesthetic goals. It can be both exciting and daunting at the same time, and our staff are here to support you through the process.

Prior To Your Appointment

  • GP Referral — Ensure you have a current and relevant GP referral. This can be emailed to admin@thecoastalclinic.com.au prior to your appointment. In most cases, your GP will also send us a copy directly.
  • Pre-Screening Call — If your case is cosmetic, you will be required to complete a pre-screening call with our nurse. We will contact you to arrange a time; this usually takes 5–10 minutes.
  • BDD Interview — It is an AHPRA requirement that all patients seeking cosmetic surgery undergo a Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) screening interview with one of our health practitioners.
  • Complete Your Forms — A link to your patient registration form will be emailed to you approximately 20 days before your appointment. Please complete and return this at least 2 weeks (14 days) before your scheduled appointment, so our clinical team has time to review your information beforehand.
  • Confirming Your Appointment — A confirmation text message will be sent 6 days before your appointment. Please respond promptly to secure your booking.
  • Cancellation Policy — We ask that you confirm your appointment at least 48 hours in advance. This allows us to offer your original appointment time to another patient on our waitlist and gives us the best chance of filling the consultation if it becomes available. A $100 deposit is required to secure your consultation. This deposit is forfeited if less than 48 hours’ notice is given to cancel or reschedule, or in the case of a missed appointment (no-show).
